Northern Spain is somewhere that Anna has always wanted to visit. The Spanish lifestyle appeals, and she loves the way they don’t care too much for time or retail opening hours. Shopkeepers even go home for a sleep in the middle of the day. It’s a far cry from her scrupulous day to day role as an accountant!
Unlike many young Australians, Anna never did the traditional European OE, and instead dived head first into her accountancy career straight out of university.
Now in her 30s, Anna has her own firm, but the travel bug has always remained. She just hasn’t had the time or means to travel.
Around six months ago, she and her partner set their sights towards a European adventure to Spain and Italy.
“I’d always wanted to go to Northern Spain. The wine region, the mountains and just the general lifestyle all appealed. I had some friends who had visited the Basque region and loved it, and one of their highlights was partaking in Running of the Bulls.”
“I’m a bit of an adrenaline junkie and love outdoor activities, so the idea of this dangerous yet exhilarating experience that’s steeped in tradition and history really appealed.”
